Mel Slater, presence guru, wrote an article where he presents his new theories about the fundamental aspects of presence, namely Immersion, Place Illusion and Plausibility Illusion.
I like the fact that presence is split in two. Place illusion is « easily » achieved through perceptive illusion and can be recovered quickly, while plausibility illusion which deals more with the realism of interactions, is complex to get, and once it’s broken it doesn’t come back easily.
