The ASME ESDA 2012 conference will be held in Nantes (Ecole Centrale de Nantes) in July 2012. We are also seeking papers in the field of Virtual and Augmented Reality. You have until Oct. 15th 2011 to submit a short abstract.
Since its introduction in the late 1990s in the manufacturing industry, Virtual Reality has brought a lot to design review and ergonomics studies to speed up the development of new products. It has also been used for scientific visualization at very high or very small scales with the help of pre-computation. Recent advances in models, algorithms, computers and GPUs has enabled realtime computation of mechanical models and allows new forms of interaction with simulated models as well as new visualization methods such as Augmented Reality. This Augmented/Virtual Reality track aims at presenting new results, algorithms, models for interaction and visualization for engineering system design and analysis.
Authors and presenters are invited to participate in this event to expand international cooperation, understanding and promotion of efforts and disciplines in the area of Virtual and Augmented Reality. Dissemination of knowledge by presenting research results, new developments, and novel concepts in Virtual and Augmented Reality will serve as the foundation upon which the conference program of this area will be developed.
A variety of sessions are available for presentations as it allows flexibility to the authors. All sessions are quality driven.
Authors should submit a 400 word text only abstract on the ESDA2012 website. No papers are to be submitted to the organizers; submissions will only be accepted via the conference website.
